Anke Heelemann
Kunstfest Weimar
2018
Anke Heelemann’s staged walk led visitors through Weimar’s new “Quartier Weimarer Moderne”—the area between the former Gauforum (now the Atrium), the GDR student dormitory “Jakobsplan,” and the Bauhaus Museum. Here, the light and shadow of modernism lie in close proximity.
Wearing a hard hat, equipped with a telescope, chalk, and a camping chair, and a wealth of untold stories, actor Markus Fennert guides the audience through 150 years of contemporary history, navigating them through the abysses, contexts, perspectives, expectations, and visions of the past century—thereby offering an unusual glimpse into a landscape full of contradictions.
