Where is the Planetary?

Where is the Planetary? ‘Where is the Planetary?’ was an experimental conference held at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, conceived as the culmination of his long-standing exploration of the Anthropocene. Scientists, artists and activists from all over the world came together to embark on a collaborative search for a model of successful coexistence on Earth. The conference setting was designed by the artist Koki Tanaka. A key element of Koki Tanaka’s experimental set-ups was the presence of the camera. In collaboration with the film collective TINT, all activities were filmed, thereby directing the viewer’s gaze, via the camera, towards the concrete gestures of being together.
