Power Plant – Future

Kulturpark e.V., Bitterfeld-Wolfen / Zschornewitz

2026

From September 12 to 27, the Festival OSTEN , under the title “Power Plant – Future,” invites visitors to explore and celebrate Bitterfeld-Wolfen and “the East” as a landscape of change for people, nature, and community life.

This year’s festival edition centers on the energy of the future. Where will our energy come from in the future? But also: Where do we draw strength and courage from in times of crisis? At two locations—the historic Zschornewitz power plant and the area around the former Jugendclub 84 in Wolfen-Nord—we’ll generate energy together, recharge our strength, and send out impulses into our broad network of energy for the future.

Here, artists will present theater and music pieces, performances, films, and much more. Workshops and discussions will offer a fresh perspective on the present and the future and provide an opportunity to engage in conversation with one another.
