We\u2019re freeing Faust from his (yellowed) book covers and, through this inter\u00adactive, multi\u00admedia exhibition at the Schiller Museum, inviting visitors to explore, parti\u00adcipate in, and reflect on Goethe\u2019s literary universe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The quest for eternal youth and omniscience, the explo\u00aditation of nature, and the fateful longing for power in a capitalist world\u2014everything that concerns us today is already a theme in Goethe\u2019s work. For the first time, the literary exhibition \u201cFaust\u201d presents a contem\u00adporary inter\u00adpre\u00adtation and explores what the story of the ambitious, crisis-ridden scholar Heinrich Faust and his diabo\u00adlical companion still has to say to us today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To this end, the exhibition develops its own forms of presen\u00adtation and media, including colla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adtions with the renowned comic artist Simon Schwartz, graphic designer Ariane Spanier, and film experts from the Deutsche Kinemathek. Immerse yourself in this tragedy about humanity, knowledge, and seduction through expressive typography and a collage of Faust films. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thematic sections on nature, gender relations, and the Capitalocene shed light on the astonishing relevance of Goethe\u2019s literary master\u00adpiece. The exhibition focuses on objects from Goethe\u2019s extensive collec\u00adtions of nature and art\u2014here, visitors can see what the famous author observed and what he grappled with while writing \u201cFaust\u201c. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
