As part of \u201cKein Schluss\u00adstrich! \u2013 A Nationwide Theater Project on the NSU Complex,\u201d musician and composer Marc Sinan was commis\u00adsioned to compose an oratorio that, drawing on the actions of the National Socialist Under\u00adground (NSU) and, through the unifying element of music, creates a collective experience that pursues the utopia of a contem\u00adporary humanistic coexis\u00adtence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The oratorio consists of eight individual parts, which will be performed in fourteen cities across Germany over the course of two weeks and, on three dates, will be connected via video trans\u00admis\u00adsions to form a trans-spatial total work of art. The individual parts are concerts or perfor\u00admances with a highly parti\u00adci\u00adpatory character. Among others, numerous amateur singers, children, and young people, as well as profes\u00adsional and renowned musicians and orchestras, will perform. The perfor\u00admances will take place at locations associated with the crimes of the so-called NSU or other racist and discri\u00admi\u00adnatory acts. In addition to the perfor\u00admances in Chemnitz, Dortmund, Eisenach, Hamburg, Heilbronn, Jena, Kassel, Cologne, Munich, Nuremberg, Plauen, Rostock, Rudol\u00adstadt, and Zwickau, all sub-projects will be available to watch via livestream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As artistic production manager for \u201cMAN\u0130FEST(O),\u201d I was respon\u00adsible for the entire production process and coordi\u00adnated arran\u00adge\u00adments with theaters and cultural insti\u00adtu\u00adtions in all cities, as well as with technical service providers, the artists, and other stake\u00adholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
