The closed film studio and the extinct dinosaurs served as canvases for our imagi\u00adna\u00adtions of times past. Today, neither the film studio, the GDR, nor dinosaurs exist, but they have one thing in common: their former existence is still clearly palpable and continues to raise questions to this day. How we remember life in times past is shaped by the stories we tell about it and the images we conjure up. The film studio in Wolfen was once the largest women-run enter\u00adprise in the GDR. In retro\u00adspect, it is often roman\u00adti\u00adcized as a model feminist enter\u00adprise. When it comes to dinosaurs, on the other hand, we think of suppo\u00adsedly masculine traits: size, strength, and brutality. With their perfor\u00admance, the collective hannsjana invited the audience to search the grounds of the former film studio for buried, obscured, and overlaid narra\u00adtives. They found traces that told of women\u2019s labor, of power, and of political movements. In the process, they disco\u00advered a special dinosaur in need of a feminist recon\u00ads\u00adtruction. Tyran\u00adno\u00adsaurus Rex is dead. Long live Tyran\u00adno\u00adsaurus Regina!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the develo\u00adpment of the concept through the grant appli\u00adcation to the final perfor\u00admance, I accom\u00adpanied hannsjana and Tyran\u00adno\u00adsaurus Regina. The work was created for the OSTEN festival \u2013 \u201cWelt Weit Wolfen\u201c in 2024 and addressed the central themes of that edition of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
